ngamba chimpanzeeThis safari is a luxury tour that starts and ends in Entebbe. The safari will take you through the beautiful ever green Ngamba Island. The chimps at Ngamba Island sanctuary are located 23 km off shore from the main land of Entebbe. The island is located on the forested land ans is home to over 40 chimps that were rescued from the poachers. This semi wild sanctuary was also established by a team of concerned organisations including UWEC, and Jane Goodall institute to give a facility for the orphaned chimpanzees and have increased day by day.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Ngamba Island

Have a briefing and after the guide will transfer you from your hotel and drive you to Entebbe where you will take a boat ride to Ngamba Island. Depending on the time, you will reach, you will have a community walk in the near communities before going to view the chimps.

Overnight and Dinner at Ngamba Island Camp

Day 2: Enjoy Ngamba Island Forest Walk

Have breakfast and then receive the medical vaccination, after go for the forest walk to see the playful chimps. These chimpanzees are the closest ancestors of the humans who will walk while holding your hands, climb on you and even pull your hair. You then have lunch and take a forest walk as you look for the birds or chose to relax by the lake shores.

Overnight and Dinner at Ngamba Island Camp

Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe

Enjoy a forest walk in the morning and then return back to Entebbe by boat.
